About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sushi Chef to join our team at Zuma Boston, a contemporary Japanese restaurant in one of North America's most iconic cities. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi and sashimi dishes that exceed our guests' expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare sushi and sashimi dishes according to established recipes and plating standards.
  • Handle and portion seafood, including slicing, filleting, and cutting fish for sushi and sashimi.
  • Ensure the freshness, quality, and proper storage of all seafood and ingredients used in sushi preparation.
  • Follow recipes and plating guidelines to ensure consistency and accuracy in sushi preparation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, including equipment, tools, and work surfaces.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sushi Cook or Sushi Chef in a high-volume restaurant environment or sushi bar.
  • Proficiency in sushi preparation techniques, including knife skills, seafood handling, and sushi rolling.
  • Knowledge of different types of fish, seafood, and sushi ingredients, as well as sushi terminology and presentation styles.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
