Certified Nursing Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team at Genie Healthcare. The ideal candidate will have experience in nursing homes, working with individuals with developmental disabilities, and providing care to geriatric patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
  • Assist patients with mobility needs, including lifting and transferring individuals safely.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding patient conditions and any changes observed.
  • Support patients with developmental disabilities by implementing individualized care plans.
  • Document patient care activities accurately in accordance with medical terminology standards.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and care strategies.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant or in a similar role within a nursing home or senior care setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical-surgical procedures and geriatrics is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with vital signs monitoring systems and basic medical terminology is essential.
  • Ability to lift patients safely using proper techniques and equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in providing quality care to patients.
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is required.
