As an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Specialist with the Army National Guard, you will be part of a highly skilled team responsible for detecting and disposing of explosive ordnance, improvised explosive devices, and other hazardous materials. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the safety of our troops and civilians alike.

Key Responsibilities
  • Locate, identify, and dispose of explosive ordnance and improvised explosive devices
  • Conduct intelligence gathering operations to identify potential threats
  • Support Very Important Persons (VIP) missions for the U.S. Secret Service, State Department, and other federal agencies
Required Skills
  • Basic electronics and electricity fundamentals
  • Hazards and identification of United States and foreign munitions
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Aptitude for planning and organizing
  • Ability to work calmly under stress
Training and Development

You will receive comprehensive training in explosive ordnance disposal, including basic training and advanced individual training. This training will equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in this critical role.

Upon completion of your training, you will be qualified to work with government agencies and private industries performing ordnance research and development, explosive safety and security measures, and civil law enforcement. You may also consider a future as a bomb disposal expert, gunsmith, or munitions handler.
