Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team at Dukehealth. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical activities associated with the performance of Sonography procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of sonography equipment and related equipment to produce specialized images of specific body regions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in performing sonogram imaging assessment and diagnostic procedures per established protocols, policy, and patient safety standards.
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to the Radiologist.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and ensure customer satisfaction and appropriateness of care for all assigned patients.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
  • Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate.
  • Level I RDMS registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligible and become registered within twelve (12) months of employment.
  • Must obtain ARDMS certifications in Abdomen, OB/GYN, or Vascular as required by each entity within 18 months of employment.
