Position Overview:

The Logistics Material Specialist plays a crucial role in the operational efficiency of our distribution center. This position is essential for ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products, facilitating timely deliveries to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the delivery of Kohler products while managing the workflow on the warehouse floor to guarantee punctual deliveries.
  • Execute the billing process for outgoing shipments and prepare all necessary shipping documentation.
  • Engage in regular communication with various teams including Shipment Planning, Transportation, and Customer Service to proactively address any potential shipment issues.
  • Plan and organize shipments using SAP and JDA/BlueYonder systems, striving for optimal on-time delivery rates.
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies and collaborate with warehouse associates to troubleshoot issues related to shipments and equipment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse operations.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare and verify Bills of Lading, ensuring all special delivery instructions are accurately documented.
  • Conduct inventory audits and make necessary adjustments to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Generate special reports for management and undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma is required; a two-year associate degree or equivalent experience in warehousing and shipping is preferred.
  • Familiarity with materials planning and scheduling in a manufacturing context is advantageous.
  • Basic proficiency in SAP, Excel, and JDA/BlueYonder systems is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are necessary.
