About the Role:

This is a full-time position that will work with patients to help them develop, recover, or maintain the skills needed for daily living and work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patients' physical, perceptual, cognitive, social, and vocational abilities and their impact on daily living.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to help patients achieve their goals.
  • Provide and/or fabricate assistive devices and/or splints to enhance patients' functional independence.
  • Monitor and evaluate outcomes and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Identify factors affecting patients' physical and psychosocial comfort and attend to these needs.
  • Plan for and complete patient discharge, including providing written home programs, patient/family teaching, referral for community services, and ordering equipment.
  • Complete all required documentation, including patient progress notes, team conference reports, discharge summaries, and records patient care and progress.
Requirements:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Occupational Therapist license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • No experience required.
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and squat throughout the workday. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 10 lbs. from waist to overhead, and lift and carry up to 40 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance. The employee must also be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force, perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present, and have functional use of senses to allow for effective communication.
