Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team in providing hands-on patient care, assisting with treatment plans, and contributing to optimal recovery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients' needs under the supervision of licensed Occupational Therapists.
- Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Provide direct patient care through therapeutic activities, adaptive techniques, and modalities.
- Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes and concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment protocols, home exercises, and strategies for daily living.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Current state license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of rehabilitation techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Estimated Salary: $65,000-$85,000 per year
