Our first product is an AI-powered automatic hair braider, which reduces braiding time from hours to minutes, empowering stylists to increase their business and addressing the significant time spent braiding hair each year.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team and help us refine our product. In this role, you will collaborate with our founding team, engineers, and designers to build the product. You will be responsible for designing and prototyping under deadlines, developing key mechanisms to drive product design architecture to closure, and working directly with industrial designers to translate CMF requirements into mechanical design.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with 4+ years of professional experience in the following areas:

  • 3D Solidworks CAD with best practices for part design, complex assemblies, and configurations
  • Rapid prototyping and manufacturing (3D printing, CNC machining, laser cutting)
  • Mass manufacturing methods (injection molding, CNC, etc.)
  • Experience working directly with industrial designers to translate CMF requirements into mechanical design
  • Design for human interaction
  • Crafting and testing proof-of-concept models and prototypes
  • Gears, motors, and mechatronic components
  • Delivering complex mechanical products to defined schedules

Bonus if you have experience with:

  • GD&T
  • Completion and release of component design and documentation (including 2D drawings)
  • Mass produced consumer electronics
  • Hair styling tools
