Job Overview

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Meat/Seafood Clerk to join our team. As a Senior Meat/Seafood Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of product knowledge, and ensuring a clean and safe working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, store, and grind meats; unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery trucks.
  • Count and weigh incoming articles and compare results against invoices.
  • Examine meats in storage and rotate meats to avoid aging.
  • Provide a high level of prompt and friendly customer service while assisting customers with questions, special orders, and needs.
  • Maintain a positive, customer-focused work environment.
  • Adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department.
Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age, and a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience and 2-3 years of grocery retail experience in Meat department processes and procedures.
  • Dependable and reliable, with the ability to perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Outgoing and friendly behavior, with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
  • Ability to stand for up to 4 hours continuously, and a total of 8 hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift/carry products horizontally/vertically between 25 to 90 lbs., from 4" to 60", a distance up to 10 feet for 20 hours.
  • Ability to use a pallet jack to move pallets horizontally up to 500 lbs., requiring a force of up to 85 lbs., a distance up to 100 feet for up to 5 hours.
