Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Revenue Cycle Representative to join our team at UNC Health. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of complex duties, including insurance claims follow-up, claim denials, and A/R management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately and timely submit claims follow-up, reconsideration, and appeals, as well as respond to denials and re-bills of insurance claims.
  • Research medical records to gather information and substantiate medical justification for procedures as required by insurance carriers.
  • Submit requested medical information to insurance carriers and analyze and correct invoices or accounts as necessary.
  • Access, review, and respond to third-party correspondence, including researching and resolving issues related to posting of payments and charges, insurance denials, secondary billing, and non-payment of claims.
  • Verify claims adjudication using appropriate resources and applications, and reconcile accounts as needed.
  • Respond to assigned correspondence in a timely, professional, and complete manner, and identify issues and/or trends and provide suggestions for resolution to management.
Requirements
  • High school degree required.
  • Two years of experience in hospital or physician insurance-related activities, including authorization, billing, follow-up, call-center, or collections.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek. The salary range is $24.63 per hour, with pay offers determined by experience and internal equity. The work assignment type is hybrid, with a day job schedule and a location in Chapel Hill, NC.
