Job Overview

Join HES Facilities Services as a General Custodian, where you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in our facilities. This position involves a variety of cleaning tasks that contribute to a safe and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, dusting, and mopping.
  • Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and locker rooms, ensuring sanitation standards are met.
  • Handle waste disposal and recycling efforts effectively.
  • Conduct floor maintenance such as stripping, waxing, and carpet extraction.
  • Ensure entryways and surrounding areas are clean and polished.
  • Manage snow and ice removal as needed.
  • Support the cleaning of various surfaces including desks, furniture, and windows.
  • Follow directions from custodial supervisors and complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A strong work ethic and a reliable attendance record.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks efficiently.
  • Reliable transportation for commuting purposes.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check.

Minimum Requirements

Education: A high school diploma is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience: Previous experience in cleaning or custodial work is advantageous.

Physical and Working Conditions

This position requires:

  • Physical ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Extended periods of walking and standing throughout the shift.
  • Capability to work in varying temperatures.
