About the Role

Cook Children's Health Care System is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Speech Pathologist to join our team in the Inpatient Acute Care Service. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive speech and language services to pediatric patients with a range of conditions, including feeding and swallowing disorders, articulation, voice, resonance, fluency, and receptive/expressive language disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Provide evaluation, treatment, and home programming for pediatric patients with speech and language disorders
  • Collaborate with radiologists to provide swallow function studies for inpatients and outpatients
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to enhance development, restore function, and prevent disability
  • Provide patient and caregiver education and consultation to other medical professionals, clinics, and agencies
  • Document and communicate services provided, following department and system policies
Requirements
  • Master's degree in speech/language pathology
  • At least 2 years of pediatric feeding/swallowing experience in an acute pediatric hospital (preferred)
  • CPR certification
  • State license or eligibility for state licensure
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech/Language Pathology (or eligible for application upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year)
