Job Overview

Allied Universal Janitorial Services is seeking a dedicated Janitorial Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our janitorial staff. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest level of service is provided to our customers, while maintaining a clean and safe environment.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of janitorial work experience, preferably in a leadership role. They will be able to troubleshoot and manage stressful situations, mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy, and write informatively and clearly.

Responsibilities include delegating workload, performing quality assurance checks, answering emergency calls, and ensuring janitor closets are cleaned and stocked. The successful candidate will also be able to conduct safety training, coach and mentor team members, and perform payroll duties as needed.

Qualifications include a strong organizational and decision-making skills, active listening, and the ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively. Prior supervisory experience in the janitorial or housekeeping industry is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delegate workload of janitorial staff members
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure work is completed in accordance with our customer contract
  • Answer calls from security or mall management for emergency cleaning
  • Ensure janitor closets are cleaned and stocked
  • Oversee table, chair, stage, retail merchandising unit set-ups as required
  • Inform maintenance department and supervisor of any maintenance deficiencies
  • Conduct safety training; coach and mentor janitorial team members
  • Perform payroll duties, as needed
  • Make productivity recommendations to leadership staff
  • Participate in selection and placement of janitorial team members
  • Provide team feedback and provide guidance for improvement
  • On occasion, may be required to perform janitorial duties to supplement staff

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of janitorial work experience, preferably in a leadership role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior supervisory experience in the janitorial or housekeeping industry
