Position Summary:

The Licensed Behavioral Specialist will provide essential support to students and the team by coordinating and delivering services in Applied Behavior Analysis, conducting behavioral assessments, and implementing behavior modification strategies. The LBS will also supervise the programming of associate behavior analysts and offer continuous support and guidance to Direct Support Professionals (DSP) regarding the execution and documentation of Behavior Support Plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Function in a supervisory role, overseeing all programming aspects, including training for direct support professionals and consultants.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training in Applied Behavior Analysis, utilizing both discrete trial training and natural environment training methodologies.
  • Facilitate the identification and development of resources and support information for the team, clients, and their families.
  • Provide model teaching and direct instructional support, including practicum supervision and in-service training for other support professionals.
  • Assist in creating and implementing assessment tools to conduct functional behavioral assessments and develop effective behavior strategies.
  • Offer ongoing training and behavioral consultation to leaders, paraprofessionals, and direct care staff in applying ABA principles and behavior reduction techniques.
  • Establish data collection systems to track baseline and program effectiveness, analyzing data regularly to inform programming decisions.
  • Develop behavior plans and treatment strategies focusing on teaching and preventive measures to mitigate challenging behaviors.
  • Review and approve behavior plan training for field staff, providing supervision as needed.
  • Utilize MPA's electronic health records system to document session notes promptly.
  • Maintain open communication with all stakeholders, including parents and community agencies.
  • Stay informed on current literature and research, completing continuing education to uphold BCBA certification.
  • Manage all data, documentation, and communication between personal care staff and families, providing feedback to relevant agencies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • BCBA certification with a minimum of 2 years of experience unless otherwise approved.
  • Successful completion of internship or formal training in behavior analysis and instructional strategies.
  • Demonstrated competence in behavior management, instructional skills, and effective communication.
  • Ability to work with diverse clients across various age groups and functionality levels.
