Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Therapist Senior to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions to support the rehabilitation of Arizona's youth. Your expertise in psychological testing, counseling, and therapy will be invaluable in helping us achieve our mission.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions to support the rehabilitation of Arizona's youth.
  • Evaluate high-risk/suicidal youth to determine the potential for self-injury or injury to others.
  • Administer, score, and interpret psychological tests to inform treatment plans.
  • Attend team and/or board meetings to make recommendations regarding the release of a youth.
  • Assist in the development of individual treatment plans.
  • Make unit research recommendations.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as psychology or counseling.
  • Current, active Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AZBBHE) independent license.
  • Two years of specialty treatment experience with juveniles or young adults in areas such as substance abuse treatment, sexual behavior, mental health, or severe conduct disorder.
