Position Summary:

This role is essential within our manufacturing operations, requiring advanced mechanical, electrical, and preventative maintenance expertise for the upkeep and repair of high-capacity packaging and processing machinery. Responsibilities include maintaining and constructing conveyors, blowers, sifters, blenders, burners, grinders, as well as labelers, ink-jet printing systems, vacuum and hydraulic pumps, forklifts, and air compressors.

The successful candidate will operate independently, applying both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills to repair, overhaul, and re-manufacture equipment, while also conducting root cause analysis and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections, repairs, and overhauls on mechanical drives, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, motor control devices, conveyor systems, and various rotating and cutting equipment.
  • Diagnose, repair, and perform performance assessments on production machinery.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance on facility equipment.
  • Utilize volt and amp meters to troubleshoot and repair motor control centers and sub-electrical panels.
  • Employ precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers to assess mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
  • Identify necessary materials for repairs, including measuring belts and chains, and complete order forms as needed.
  • Perform machine shop tasks including metal fabrication, welding, and machining.
  • Establish work orders and requisition parts as required.
  • Order shop supplies and equipment, including replacement parts and tools.
  • Contribute technical insights to develop and maintain standard operating procedures and safety analyses.
  • Maintain daily logs of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven mechanical and electrical skills in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Completion of vocational/technical certifications, hands-on training, or apprenticeship programs is preferred.
  • Associate Degree or 1-2 years of relevant experience is desirable.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills; high school diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to identify basic mechanical and electrical components.
  • Familiarity with basic computer applications such as Word and Outlook.
  • Forklift driving experience is advantageous.

Food Safety Compliance:

Adherence to all Federal, State, Corporate, Warehouse, and Food Safety standards, policies, and guidelines is mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be able to frequently lift 25 lbs and work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
