Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Radiologist or Surgeon during intricate interventional and angiographic procedures in the specialized suite.
- Manage surgical scrub and circulation tasks to ensure comprehensive patient care throughout the procedure.
- Conduct specialized radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging under the guidance of a physician or physician assistant.
- Communicate procedures to patients, addressing their concerns and preparing them for the process.
- Provide support during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and supplying necessary materials for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
- Handle the removal of catheters and sheaths, applying direct pressure as needed.
- Deliver pertinent report information to physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Coordinate the ordering of procedures and management of supply charges.
- Execute image acquisition and post-processing, ensuring timely documentation on PACS.
- Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment, reporting any malfunctions as necessary.
- Utilize computerized documentation systems for monitoring and recording patient information.
- Assist in the transportation of patients as required.
- Provide orientation and mentorship to new team members.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols in line with established best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas Medical Board - MRT license.
- Current ARRT (R) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
