Position Overview:
The Financial Operations Assistant plays a crucial role in managing intricate accounting and financial responsibilities, ensuring timely and precise financial reporting and adherence to regulations.

This position encompasses various functions, including conducting financial analyses and generating reports to oversee the financial aspects of business activities, alongside essential financial operations such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting, and analytical assessments.


Financial Oversight:
Calculates commissions and excise taxes, oversees distributions, K1s, and associated communications. Prepares reconciliations and complex journal entries. Develops and reviews Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and aids in the implementation and upkeep of accounting software systems.

Assists in the formulation of budgets and forecasts for sales, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows, including forward-looking 52-week cash projections, 5-year plans, and compliance with bank covenants, across various business units and departments.

Aids in the preparation of financial reports, such as monthly management reports, variance analyses with operational metrics, and audited financial statements. Supports the management of relationships with banks, insurance brokers, and other external service providers. Provides necessary information and reports for audit, valuation, and tax teams. Acts as a backup for overseeing financial operations, internal controls, compliance, and month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely management of deadlines. Assists in monitoring payments and receipts for intercompany transactions and managing working capital efficiently.

Support for Other Departments:
Offers accounting guidance during month-end and year-end closing processes. Provides financial insights and ad hoc reports to management and various departments. Manages personal taxes, purchases, credit card statements, insurance policies, and investments for the owner. Collaborates with departments to deliver financial insights and operational guidance.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA designation is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a blend of public accounting and corporate accounting, with a preference for experience in a manufacturing environment.

Proficient in Word, Excel, web browsers, and ERP applications. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong problem-solving abilities. Proven capability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven, and challenging environment. Regular office presence is required, with occasional local/regional travel and some international travel.
