Pediatric Nurse Specialist

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Nurse Specialist to join our team at Akron Children's Hospital. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our pediatric patients and their families.

**Responsibilities:**

* Provide nursing care and guidance to clinical staff under the direction of physicians
* Support provider staff and promote efficient operation and quality care
* Precept new employees and act as a mentor to clinical staff
* Participate in the development of education for staff members on clinically related issues
* Assess clinical competency and participate in the evaluation process of clinical staff
* Work with patients and families as an advocate for health maintenance and promote a positive public image
* Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of patients
* Provide consultations and requests consults as directed and in accordance with hospital bylaws

**Requirements:**

* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
* Current certification in Basic Life Support training from the American Heart Association required
* Valid, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio required
* Minimum 2 years of experience preferred

**Work Environment:**

* Full-time position
* Onsite
