Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dishwasher to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a Dishwasher, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen area, ensuring a positive and efficient customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen area, adhering to our high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Assist with kitchen deliveries, including proper storage, organization, and rotation of products, to ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Arrive on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work, and work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
  • Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs in a timely and effective manner, and model suggestive selling techniques.
  • Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
  • Follow and comply with established procedures, including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, and maintain equipment in accordance with our cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, and ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
  • Immediately report safety hazards and violations.

  • Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectful manner to fellow team members, customers, and vendors.

  • Passion for natural foods and the mission of Whole Foods Market.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Understanding of and compliance with Whole Foods Market quality goals.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • In an 8-hour workday: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
  • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
  • May require use of ladders.
