Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and Maintain Buses: Clean and maintain buses, including exterior washing, interior vacuuming, dusting, and washing windows.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as tightening loose mirrors and signs, and reporting defects in writing.
  • Operate Equipment: Operate various shop equipment and devices to clean and maintain buses and facilities.
  • Follow Safety Procedures: Follow all District procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous waste and operate in compliance with the District's health and safety procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience in Custodial or Maintenance: At least six (6) months of prior demonstrated experience in custodial, bus/car/facility service and cleanup.
  • Valid California Class B Driver's License: A valid California Class B Driver License; or a valid California Class C Driver License with ability to obtain a California Class B Driver License permit within sixty (60) days of hire date; and a California Class B Driver License within one (1) year of hire date.
Benefits
  • Comprehensive Health and Dental Insurance: RTD provides a comprehensive health and dental insurance package for all full-time employees and their dependents.
  • Sick Leave: Three (3) to twelve (12) days per year depending on length of service for full-time employees, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Vacation: One (1) week to six (6) weeks depending on the classification level and length of service for full-time employees, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Retirement Plan: RTD participates in a 401(a) retirement plan in which RTD provides a generous match.
