Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer Technician to join our team in Hillsboro, OR. The successful candidate will have experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing, and will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and safety in their work.

Responsibilities
  • Install and repair fiber optic cables
  • Assist in splicing and testing of fiber optic cables
  • Set up safety perimeters and flag traffic as needed
  • Prepare splice locations and termination points
  • Clean and maintain assigned vehicles and equipment
  • Splice loose tube fiber and operate splicing equipment
  • Identify issues with fiber using red light and construct proper splice cases
  • Submit daily time cards and update job completion sheets
  • Test and troubleshoot fiber using an OTDR
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations
Requirements
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Possess a valid driver's license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees
  • Willing and able to work in all weather conditions
  • Able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistance
