Job Description

At Tuscany Suites and Casino, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Steward to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and dishwashing areas.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and possess knowledge of basic food hygiene. A positive attitude, effective communication skills, and ability to work under pressure are essential.

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the kitchen and dishwashing areas in an inspection-ready condition.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools.
  • Wash dishes, china ware, flatware, cutlery, crockery, kitchen vessels, and other utensils.
  • Clean and sweep floors, and mop as necessary.
  • Dispose of waste and recyclables according to hotel and authority guidelines.
  • Assist cooks and servers as needed.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks, including emptying rubbish bins and boxes.
  • Clean and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and equipment.
  • Check chemical levels and inventory.
  • Report maintenance or hazard issues to the chief steward or stewarding manager.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of basic food hygiene.
  • Positive attitude, effective communication skills, and ability to work under pressure.
