The Role

As the Manager of Corporate Financial Operations at Catalis, you will spearhead the Corporate Accounting team. The ideal candidate will possess a meticulous approach, coupled with extensive expertise in accounting, financial reporting, and the management of accounting workflows. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the precision of our financial documentation and the prompt execution of our financial closing processes. You will report directly to the Senior Director of Accounting, and this position offers a hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the general accounting operations, encompassing payroll, fixed assets, debt management, accruals, and leases.
  • Review, authorize, and record journal entries.
  • Ensure banking transactions are processed, documented, and reconciled accurately.
  • Maintain reconciliations for the general ledger balance sheet, including the review and rectification of account balances.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements in accounting close cycles to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Mentor and guide three direct reports, fostering their professional development.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and monthly cash flow reports.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate audit and disclosure obligations.
  • Promote a culture of productivity, service excellence, personal growth, open communication, and teamwork.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses and reporting to support organizational decision-making.
  • Work alongside other departments to address accounting-related challenges and provide necessary financial support.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA or MBA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in corporate or public accounting, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience in supporting accounting operations and reporting across multiple business units, with strong accounting research capabilities.
  • Familiarity with foreign currency transactions.
  • Experience with NetSuite and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
