Position Overview

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) plays a crucial role in delivering anesthesia care to patients across various clinical settings. This position requires a blend of advanced clinical skills and a commitment to patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities

  • Anesthesia Administration: Conduct thorough pre-anesthesia evaluations, ensuring informed consent is obtained. Administer various anesthetic techniques, including general, regional, local, or sedation, while monitoring the patient's airway and vital signs to ensure optimal physiological stability.
  • Patient Support: Provide peri-anesthetic assistance across different patient care areas. Responsibilities include inserting peripheral and arterial catheters, performing arterial punctures for blood sampling, and participating in CPR efforts, which may involve airway management and pharmacological support.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with departmental teams to achieve desired patient outcomes. Prioritize tasks effectively, serve as a resource for colleagues, and take on charge responsibilities as needed. Mentor and guide students and new staff, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Anesthetist program.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations.
  • Registered Nurse Anesthetist certification as mandated by state authorities.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required upon hire.
  • PALS certification is also required upon hire.

Physical Requirements

This role involves medium work, including the ability to lift weights up to 32 lbs occasionally and up to 25 lbs frequently, in alignment with safe patient handling policies.
