English Teacher

The Academy Charter Schools seeks an experienced English Language Arts (ELA) AIS Teacher to provide targeted instructional support to students in need of additional academic assistance.

• Deliver high-quality instruction to students identified as eligible for ELA services, utilizing a range of strategies to engage and motivate learners.
• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to ensure seamless curriculum implementation and effective communication of student progress.
• Analyze assessment data to identify areas of strength and weakness, informing instruction and driving student growth.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs, incorporating manipulatives and hands-on activities to enhance student engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, including goals and objectives established through collaboration with teachers.

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• New York State Reading Certification is essential.
• A minimum of two years of teaching experience is required, with a proven track record of high student achievement.
• Experience working with at-risk student populations is highly desirable.
• Strong working knowledge of instructional technology and its applications in the classroom.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling the development of rubrics and examination of data to inform instruction.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team environment, with a focus on achieving common goals.
