Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement pharmacy services throughout the Great Plains Area.
  • Provide professional guidance and technical assistance to direct care service units and tribal pharmacy staff.
  • Maintain liaison with Headquarters Pharmacy Branch, Federal and State Agencies, Governing Bodies, and Organizations.
  • Represent the discipline of pharmacy in all interactions with other Area Office branches, offices, and staff.
  • Provide pharmacy consultation services, including technical and administrative guidance to executive leadership, pharmacists, and medical staff.
  • Manage the Great Plains Area Tele-Pharmacy Program.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service, performing leadership roles in hospital pharmacy settings, proficient knowledge of pharmacy-related accreditation and CMS certification standards, and experience with electronic medical records and pharmacy drug libraries.
