About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Life Changes Group. As a key member of our outpatient team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and development of our practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients presenting with various mental health concerns.
  • Utilize evidence-based screening tools and diagnostic criteria to formulate comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications per established protocols and clinical guidelines.
  • Monitor medication efficacy and side effects, adjusting treatment plans to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Provide patient education regarding medication regimens, potential side effects, and adherence strategies.
  • Deliver individual and group psychotherapy sessions, employing various therapeutic modalities tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Facilitate psychoeducation sessions for patients and their families to promote understanding of mental health conditions and enhance coping skills.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other treatment team members to ensure coordinated and integrated care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Adhere to legal and ethical standards regarding confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
  • Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs and preferences are respected throughout treatment.
  • Provide emotional support and crisis intervention, collaborating with emergency services and community resources to address acute psychiatric crises.
Requirements
  • Clear and active Family Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from a nationally recognized accrediting body.
  • Board Certified.
  • Current and active DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) registration for prescribing controlled substances.
  • Must hold the credentials to prescribe medications to children, teens, and adults.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience in psychiatric/mental health nursing, preferably outpatient.
