About the Role

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced PET/CT Technologist to lead our diagnostic imaging team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing PET and PET/CT procedures, ensuring high-quality patient care, and providing technical direction and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Imaging (55%):
    • Screen patients for any precautions or contraindications before examination.
    • Perform PET and nuclear medicine procedures with proper positioning and technique.
    • Explain procedures to patients, position them for scanning, and provide support throughout the procedure.
    • Monitor patient conditions and assist radiologists as needed.
    • Conduct examinations with regard to patient age, condition, or special requirements.
    • Assist radiologists during radiopharmaceutical administration and practice aseptic procedures.
    • Recognize allergic reactions and respond according to company policies.
    • Prepare examinations for interpretation by radiologists.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment.
    • Report contamination to the Radiation Safety Officer.
    • Maintain accurate patient records within the Radiology Information System.
  • Staff Supervision (25%):
    • Ensure comprehensive knowledge of company policies, procedures, and protocols for CT technologists.
    • Assist in staff planning and hiring processes.
    • Manage staffing levels for adequate modality coverage.
    • Monitor and approve timecards.
    • Oversee and assist with training new CT technologists.
    • Initiate and participate in staff performance evaluations.
    • Lead regular staff meetings and employee one-on-ones.
  • Operations (15%):
    • Maintain PET equipment and ensure emergency equipment is in good working order.
    • Take corrective action for hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns.
    • Ensure an orderly and clean work area.
    • Coordinate patient relations and ensure high-quality patient service.
    • Ensure compliance with state regulations and internal policies regarding documentation and tracking of safety and licensing-related items.
    • Maintain an updated PET protocol manual and software upgrades.
    • Order supplies as necessary following company guidelines.
    • Assist with patient scheduling, darkroom operations, filing films, administrative billing, and maintaining records.
  • Other Duties (5%):
