Key Responsibilities- Material Handling: Safely handle and transport steel materials, including loading and unloading steel components, using equipment such as forklifts or cranes when necessary.
- Cutting and Shaping: Use cutting tools and machinery to trim, cut, and shape steel materials according to project specifications, ensuring accuracy in measurements and cutting.
- Welding Support: Assist welders by preparing steel components for welding, cleaning and grinding welds, and ensuring proper alignment and positioning of materials.
- Assembly: Collaborate with the fabrication team to assemble steel components, following blueprints, design plans, and instructions for welding, bolting, or fastening parts together.
- Quality Control: Inspect steel components for defects, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards, making necessary adjustments or reporting issues to supervisors.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on tools, equipment, and machinery to ensure they are in proper working order and report any malfunctions or repair needs.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to safety protocols, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work area, disposing of scrap materials and waste responsibly.
