SENIOR COST ESTIMATOR IN COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION
Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Estimator with extensive experience in commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various sectors including healthcare, retail, educational facilities, and corporate interiors. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop comprehensive proposals for both straightforward and intricate Request for Proposal submissions.
- Analyze and provide feedback on all stages of construction documents to ensure adherence to established standards.
- Assess and validate quotes to ensure alignment with project specifications.
- Deliver accurate pricing based on preliminary designs.
- Evaluate vendor proposals to identify any scope overlaps or omissions.
- Collaborate with consultants to formulate specifications for new constructions, renovations, and upgrades.
- Work alongside the Pre-Construction team to achieve project objectives through effective negotiation and vendor selection.
- Draft and negotiate clear Scopes of Work for subcontractors and suppliers to set explicit expectations.
- Perform additional duties as required to support company and departmental objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in large-scale commercial projects, including education, healthcare, retail, and corporate interiors.
- Thorough understanding of relevant building codes.
- Strong technical knowledge across all facets of construction, with a focus on energy efficiency and lean methodologies.
- Exceptional attention to detail and cost analysis skills when interpreting blueprints.
- Proficient in estimating software and other relevant technology.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost-effective practices.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong cultural fit within the team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in estimating for commercial, civil, educational, healthcare, retail, or corporate interior projects.
- A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
- At least 5 years of estimating experience is required.
