About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Language Facilitator to join our team at Disability Solutions. As an integral part of our care provision, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless communication between limited English proficient patients/families and our care providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurate Translation Services: Provide precise translation services for participants in various social and informational settings, maintaining proper medical terminology vocabulary and fluency in both English and target languages.
  • Appointment Calendar Management: Maintain a calendar with internal and external interpreter resources, ensuring efficient scheduling and effective utilization of resources.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Apply cultural differences to meet the unique needs of each participant, promoting empathy and understanding in all interactions.
  • Tracking and Scheduling: Accurately maintain interpretation tracking forms and schedule agency interpreters for appointments as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to achieving team/site goals by participating in administrative and operational tasks, as required.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalency, accompanied by Certified Medical Interpreter designation from an accredited post-high school institution.
  • Languages: Fluency in both English and target language, with excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of translating experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, along with elder experience.
  • Computer Skills: Excellent office-based computer skills in MS Office, with frequent local travel required.
  • Vaccination Requirement: Covid vaccine is mandatory.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this role is $55,000 - $65,000, depending on qualifications and location.
