STAFF AUDITOR

This position is a full-time opportunity for a Staff Auditor at City National Bank. The selected candidate will be tasked with executing assigned audits and generating reports within specified timelines.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and conduct various audits and evaluations, which may encompass bank audits, branch audits, compliance assessments, IT audits, loan reviews, specialty audits, and additional projects as designated.
  • Conduct audits through testing, examination, analysis; formulate recommendations; and effectively communicate findings to management, committees, and the board of directors in both verbal and written formats.
  • Prepare reports and other communications for audit supervisors to review and approve prior to dissemination to management.
  • Submit audit workpapers and relevant documentation to supervisors for evaluation and fulfill assigned follow-up tasks and corrections as directed.
  • Responsible for updating the exception database following each report and entering management responses promptly upon receipt.
  • Provide updates, status reports, schedules, and other pertinent information to supervisors as requested.
  • Utilize effective time management skills to ensure audits and projects are completed punctually. Document, update, and maintain workpapers and reports, including exception tracking and final archiving.
  • Participate in contact meetings, departmental meetings, team meetings, management meetings, and other discussions as assigned.
  • Engage in training sessions and classes, including individual and departmental training, webinars, seminars, and other educational events to enhance and maintain technical skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere to all corporate policies and regulatory requirements, including safeguarding information and confidentiality, as well as professional and regulatory standards and ethics.
  • Travel approximately 5% of the year, requiring a valid driver's license for travel to various local and out-of-state locations.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred; however, degrees in business or related fields with a focus on Accounting will be considered. Experience in auditing, banking regulations, lending, or accounting is advantageous.
Skills and Proficiencies
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Adobe PDF, and MS Office applications is essential. Must be able to learn and adapt to other applications and programs necessary for conducting audits.
  • Capability to create and manage spreadsheets effectively.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication skills to build rapport with client personnel, management, committees, and board members, as well as colleagues.
  • Ability to produce reports and complete work within established deadlines.
  • Demonstrated initiative to examine, analyze, assess, and draw conclusions from audit work and present findings to diverse audiences.
  • Working knowledge of accounting and auditing principles is required.
  • Proficient in reading, listening, understanding, and communicating in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong composition and proofreading abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret policies, as well as state and federal regulations.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be capable of climbing, crouching, pulling, pushing, lifting, engaging in repetitive motions, grasping, walking, touching, speaking, hearing, and seeing.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer, attending meetings and training sessions, and during other activities.
  • Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view computer monitors and read documents daily.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods while observing, interviewing, conducting audits, counting cash, and performing other audit-related activities.
  • Must be able to travel by automobile, airplane, or other public transportation when attending training or conducting onsite audits at various locations.
