Position Overview

Integrated Wound Care (IWC) specializes in providing expert wound healing services to various healthcare facilities, including skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers. Our approach emphasizes collaboration with facility staff to ensure optimal patient care, particularly focusing on wound assessments and management.

We are seeking a dedicated and self-driven Physician Assistant to join our expanding national organization. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team-oriented environment while taking on the following responsibilities:

  • Maintain active medical licenses in the relevant areas (IWC will assist with obtaining any additional licenses as necessary).
  • Engage in administrative tasks while fostering strong relationships with the facilities we serve on the east coast and our medical providers.
  • Provide coverage for nursing homes as needed, with travel requirements compensated by IWC.
  • Work Monday through Friday, with no weekend hours or overnight calls.
  • Receive comprehensive training under the guidance of our Medical Director to develop expertise in wound care, including diagnosis, treatment options, and bedside procedures.
  • Act as a consultant in nursing homes, offering insights and recommendations for wound care management.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with facility personnel to design and implement effective wound care programs.
  • Serve as a consultant for facility staff on all facets of wound care management.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients with complex wound issues.
  • Provide training and educational resources to facility staff on best practices and innovative treatments in wound care.
  • Participate in wound care rounds, offering treatment plan recommendations based on patient evaluations.
  • Monitor patient progress in wound healing and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Act as a knowledgeable resource for facility staff regarding wound care inquiries and concerns.
Qualifications
  • Current Physician Assistant License.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in wound care management.
  • Strong understanding of wound care practices and standards.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel 2-3 days per week.
