Position Overview:
The Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the effective management and allocation of resources within the Environmental Services (EVS) Departments at Baystate Health. This role includes ensuring operational efficiency, cost management, and adherence to established policies and procedures across various hospitality services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Staff Management:
Supervise and support EVS personnel, ensuring efficient workflows and addressing any personnel matters. Responsibilities include performance evaluations, scheduling, training, and staff development. Collaborate with Human Resources and departmental leadership to resolve issues and maintain compliance with all policies.
2. Operational Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive reports of daily activities and assist in training new staff members.
3. Evaluation Participation:
Engage in the staff evaluation process and assist with scheduling across various shifts as needed.
4. Communication:
Respond to housekeeping requests and address safety concerns promptly.
5. Equipment Oversight:
Inspect and maintain cleaning equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
6. Safety Compliance:
Participate in identifying and correcting safety hazards and maintain compliance with infection control standards.
7. Supply Management:
Prepare and distribute cleaning solutions, keeping accurate records of supplies provided to staff.
8. Meeting Participation:
Attend required meetings and engage in ongoing educational opportunities.
9. Linen Management:
Deliver linen as requested and respond to alerts related to security and operational needs.
10. Additional Duties:
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Environmental Services Manager, ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Required Experience:
Minimum of two years in custodial or housekeeping roles, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity within a healthcare or similar environment.
Education:
Associates of Science, GED, or HiSET is required.
