Middle School Mathematics Educator

As a Middle School Math Teacher at Uncommon Schools, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and social-emotional growth for your students.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that align with our curriculum and meet the needs of all learners
- Assessing student progress and adjusting instruction to ensure students meet or exceed academic standards
- Building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues to create a collaborative and supportive school community
- Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices in mathematics education
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in mathematics, education, or a related field
- Experience working with middle school students, preferably in an urban setting
- Strong content knowledge in mathematics, particularly in areas such as ratio and proportion, expressions and equations, and the number system
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- A commitment to equity and inclusion, with a passion for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment
