**Position Summary**

The QIDP Compliance Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of residents in Texas intermediate care facilities by conducting thorough inspections and assessments in accordance with state and federal regulations.

As a front-line professional, the QIDP Compliance Inspector primarily operates in the field, with minimal office work. The position involves drafting detailed reports on any identified deficiencies or violations, recommending corrective actions, and providing narratives to support regulatory conclusions.


**Key Responsibilities:**

Under the supervision of a program manager, the QIDP Compliance Inspector will:

  • Conduct on-site inspections for licensure, investigate complaints and incidents, and perform annual comprehensive surveys to evaluate compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to provide, exchange, or verify information, address inquiries, and resolve issues related to services in intermediate care facilities.
  • Facilitate exit conferences with facility personnel to discuss findings and assist in developing corrective action plans.
  • Complete inspection reports that detail deficiencies, suggested remedies, and narratives supporting regulatory findings.
  • Visit long-term care facilities to confirm the rectification of previously identified regulatory violations.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of documents prepared by others, including publications, assessments, and reports.
  • Occasionally provide testimony at hearings or court proceedings regarding policies, procedures, findings, or activities.

**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A solid understanding of the principles and methods for evaluating the psycho-social needs of individuals in long-term care settings.
  • Knowledge of consultation methods, social services, regulatory interpretation, program development, and organizational practices.
  • Proficiency in interpreting complex federal and state regulations governing facilities that serve individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Experience in quality assurance monitoring, certification, survey, and investigation of facilities.
  • The ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment in decision-making.
  • Competence in using personal computers and software for report writing.
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities and the capacity to prioritize competing activities.
  • Teamwork skills, whether as a member or a leader.
  • The capability to operate under pressure and make independent decisions.
