Key Responsibilities:


1. Develop a thorough personal and financial wealth profile for clients and their families, identifying wealth-related life goals in collaboration with the Lead Relationship Manager, if applicable.

2. Design and implement a comprehensive wealth plan in partnership with the client's professional advisors and Northern Trust colleagues, focusing on wealth management, wealth transfer, and tax efficiency objectives.

3. Collaborate with the Regional Wealth Advisor to design and model wealth plans for ultra-high net worth clients when a Regional Wealth Advisor is involved.

4. Work closely with the Portfolio Manager, Regional Wealth Advisor, Trust Advisor, Banker, and other Northern Trust professionals to execute the client's wealth plan.

5. Monitor and periodically update the client wealth plan.

6. Actively assist in the sales process and identify opportunities to enhance client relationships through the introduction of new Northern Trust products and services.

7. Serve as a mentor to Associate Wealth Advisors and Wealth Advisors.

8. Engage in the cultivation of professional advisor relationships, including participation in professional conferences and networks.

9. Operate independently, possessing in-depth knowledge of the business unit/function.

10. As a subject matter expert, provide comprehensive, high-level consulting and leadership to team members and partners.

11. Carry out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional, and technically challenging.

12. Balance high-level operational execution with the development and execution of strategic business function activities.

13. Conduct preliminary analyses and interact directly with various committees and management.

14. Strategically develop, implement, and administer programs within functional areas.


Required Knowledge:

Strong expertise in wealth transfer planning, taxation, estate planning solutions, and wealth management products and services, typically acquired through extensive experience with high/ultra-high net worth clients in financial services, law, or consulting.

Broad technical and analytical skills in wealth planning, wealth transfer, tax, philanthropy, fiduciary practice, asset location, and preservation.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and a proactive consultative approach.

Experience: 5-7 years of wealth planning experience working with high/ultra-high net worth individuals and families in a comprehensive capacity; advanced educational and professional designations such as CFP, JD, MBA, or similar qualifications are highly desirable.
