Job Title: RN Clinical Coordinator

Gift of Hope is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate RN Clinical Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organ donation team, you will play a critical role in evaluating potential organ donors and managing daily referral activity.

Responsibilities:
  • Triaging organ referrals and obtaining clinical information to determine medical suitability
  • Providing clinical assessment to determine organ viability and creating case plans for organ referrals
  • Supporting staff through the referral process and providing education and information surrounding the donation process
  • Assisting staff in identifying issues related to the donation process and creating plans of action
  • Coordinating onsite staff for organ donors and referral activity
  • Ensuring accurate and clear clinical documentation according to current policies and procedures
  • Facilitating necessary testing and services, as directed by the AOC/Medical Director
  • Communicating effectively with families of potential organ and tissue donors to provide information and support
  • Obtaining and documenting authorization of organ and tissue donation in accordance with Gift of Hope policy
  • Performing physical assessments of potential donors
  • Coordinating medical management of donation after circulatory death (DCD) donors with the hospital team
  • Participating in departmental quality assurance initiatives, meetings, educational activities, and required training
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year in Allied Health or graduate RN providing patient care in an acute care setting, or previous OPO clinical experience
  • Other candidates may be considered on an individual basis at the discretion of management, dependent on aligned job experience
Requirements:
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours, including 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays as assigned
  • Ability to drive personal auto to work assignments within the donor service area
  • Ability to learn and use technology, such as computers, mobile devices, and related software for communication and documentation
  • Ability to see, hear, speak, and communicate effectively
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to respond to dispatches in a timely manner and arrive at work sites as assigned
  • Ability to function in an office environment and all hospital clinical practice areas
  • Ability to move donor from cart to bed with assistance
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel to perform job functions
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. of equipment from ground level to table-top level, and to push/pull 75 lbs. on a roller cart
  • Ability to use personal cell phone for business purposes
