Compensation:
$30-34 per hour

Qualifications:

Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Basic Life Support (BLS)

POSITION OVERVIEW:


Under the supervision of a Pulmonologist and the Lead Respiratory Therapist, the Pulmonary Care Specialist will execute the responsibilities associated with respiratory care, particularly in a long-term care environment.

As directed by a physician, the specialist will set up and manage various respiratory care apparatuses utilized for diagnosing and treating respiratory conditions.

The Pulmonary Care Specialist will foster a collaborative relationship with the clinical manager of the unit, acting as a pivotal team member.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Must be capable of performing tasks under the guidance of a Pulmonologist and the Respiratory Therapy Director.

Responsibilities include maintaining artificial airways, evaluating and weaning patients on mechanical ventilation, administering oxygen therapy, conducting aerosol treatments, performing dry powder inhaler (DPI) treatments, executing tracheostomy tube changes, monitoring pulse oximetry, providing chest physiotherapy (CPT), and assisting in the management of acute respiratory conditions.

Additionally, patient and family education and training are crucial components of this role.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills are required, along with the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with others. The ability to prioritize multiple tasks without compromising the quality of care is essential.
