The APP will evaluate, strategize, and deliver exceptional patient care, emphasizing the diagnosis and management of prevalent medical conditions and chronic ailments associated with wound care. This position necessitates advanced education, clinical expertise, and certification as either an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA).
Key Responsibilities
· Patient Care:
Deliver comprehensive medical services under physician supervision, adhering to relevant state regulations.
· Clinical Evaluation:
Perform detailed physical examinations and preventive health assessments in line with established protocols and physician directives.
· Diagnostic Procedures:
Order, interpret, and assess diagnostic tests to pinpoint clinical issues and ascertain patient care requirements.
· Care Coordination:
Document clinical findings, formulate a care strategy, and discuss these findings with the healthcare team.
· Interprofessional Collaboration:
Consult with physicians and other healthcare providers to deliberate on patient cases and care strategies.
· Practice Scope:
Operate within the defined scope of practice based on education, training, and established protocols.
· Prescriptive Authority:
Utilize prescriptive privileges in accordance with state nursing and pharmacy boards, excluding Schedule I or II substances.
· Policy Evaluation:
Conduct annual reviews and updates of clinic policies in partnership with the Medical Director.
· Compliance Management:
Maintain precise patient records in alignment with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
· Program Enhancement:
Lead and engage in initiatives aimed at program development to improve patient outcomes and fulfill organizational objectives.
· Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
Collaborate with various departments to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of wound care services.
Qualifications
· Education:
Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
· Certification:
Valid certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state.
· Experience:
Prior experience in wound care or a related clinical area is preferred.
· Skills:
Strong clinical assessment capabilities, proficiency in collaborative work within a multidisciplinary setting, and excellent communication skills.
· ACLS and BLS Certification Required
