The Hornig Companies team is seeking an experienced Financial Operations Specialist to join our dynamic home office in Minneapolis' Lake Loop area. As a key member of our operations team, this individual will play a pivotal role in managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring seamless financial processes, and providing exceptional customer service to residents, employees, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process vendor invoices via mail and email
  • Scanning, entering, and paying bills via accounting software
  • Vendor correspondence and account management
  • General Ledger Adjustments, Journal Entries, Resident ledger support and maintenance, transfers, credit card management, and reimbursements
  • Payment processing, check scanning, posting charges, delinquency reporting, payment plans, collections, USDA Rural Development Program - monthly AR/AP processing, reserve account transfers, security deposit refunds, and move-out accounting, monthly and annual reporting, year-end & tax processing, and acquisitions


Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable
  • Strong understanding of general accounting & bookkeeping principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Accounting system experience
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Able to multitask, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records
