Join Our Team as a Medical Registration Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Medical Registration Specialist to join our team at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. As a vital member of our patient access department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless registration processes for our patients and their families.

About the Role
In this rewarding position, you will be responsible for communicating with patients, families, physicians, and insurance companies to obtain necessary information and ensure quality patient care and payment of hospital accounts. Your excellent communication skills and ability to multitask will enable you to effectively collaborate with our Appeals department to overturn claims denial. Additionally, you will provide other registration, clerical, and billing support as required, including scheduling, chart creation, charge entry, scanning, and point-of-service collections.

Key Responsibilities
* Interview patients and families to obtain complete and accurate demographic and financial information
* Enter data into system for registration, billing, patient tracking, charge capture, and reconciliation in a fast and efficient way
* Confirm insurance coverage and obtain authorizations if applicable
* Explain regulatory financial requirements to patients or responsible parties and collect/post deposits or deductible amounts as required
* Assist Appeals department to provide all related information to overturn claims denial if applicable

Requirements
* One year of experience in registration preferred or an assigned clinical discipline or completion of an externship program approved by Children's
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Excellent verbal/written communication skills and ability to type 45 words per minute
* Ability to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating
* Proven ability to multitask and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and major and minor holidays
