Key Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance Management:

Direct the preparation and submission of federal, state, and local tax filings, ensuring precision and adherence to tax legislation and regulations.

Evaluate tax provisions, deferred tax computations, and other tax-related financial documents.

Strategic Tax Planning:
Formulate and execute tax planning strategies aimed at reducing tax obligations and maximizing tax savings opportunities. Conduct thorough research and analysis of tax laws, regulations, and judicial rulings to support tax planning efforts.

Tax Reporting:
Generate and assess tax-related financial documents, including tax provision calculations, effective tax rate assessments, and tax account reconciliations. Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and GAAP principles.

Tax Audit Management:
Oversee tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, including the collection of documentation, responding to inquiries, and negotiating settlements. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure adherence to audit requirements.

Special Tax Projects:
Spearhead specialized tax initiatives, such as mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and international tax strategies. Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.

Tax Technology Utilization:

Employ tax software and tools to streamline tax processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure accuracy in tax calculations and reporting.

Stay informed about emerging tax technologies and best practices.

Mentorship and Development:
Offer guidance, mentorship, and training to junior tax professionals. Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the tax team.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is mandatory.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting or a related field, with a concentration on corporate taxation.
Strong comprehension of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in tax software (e.g., CCH ProSystem fx, Thomson Reuters OneSource) and Microsoft Excel.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
