Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Structural Design Engineer to join our team at Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN. As a key member of our integrated project team, you will be responsible for developing high-quality detailed design packages, providing engineering procurement and field technical support, and troubleshooting and technical assessments of plant facilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, experience with consensus design codes, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, they must be willing to work in a production environment and possess a U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities
  • Develop high-quality detailed design packages, including conceptual engineering deliverables such as cost-estimating bills of material and man-hour estimates, statements of work, design criteria, and design engineering deliverables.
  • Provide engineering procurement and field technical support to implement designs and provide expertise for troubleshooting and technical assessments of plant facilities.
  • Effectively work as a team member of an integrated project team or as a technical lead for a multi-discipline task, providing input to system engineers and other plant customers.
  • Routinely perform walkdowns in existing plant facilities to generate design documents and provide field support to craft personnel.
