Lifeguard - The Georgia Club

The Georgia Club is seeking a skilled Lifeguard to join our team. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our members and guests while they enjoy our aquatic facilities.

• Supervise swimmers at all times to ensure their safety
• Vacuum the pool bottom, empty the automatic skimmer, and skim bugs and other debris from the surface
• Tend to minor injuries such as small cuts and bruises of swimmers
• Maintain the cleanliness of changing rooms, bathrooms, and showers
• Assist in organizing clinics and private swimming lessons for members as directed by the Swimming Pool Manager or Instructors
• Enforce rules of conduct
• Check the first aid inventory and report shortages
• Organize and monitor pool games at all times; suggest poolside games
• Set up and return pool equipment to storage at the beginning of and end of the day
• Straighten the pool and cabana areas at the end of the day
• Maintain all necessary records determined by the Swimming Pool Manager
• Attend all meetings as directed by the Swimming Pool Manager

• First Aid and CPR certification
• Knowledge of optimal swimming pool water chemistry, temperature, and cleanliness standards
• Skilled swimmer
• Attentiveness and awareness to the surrounding environment
• Ability to enforce policies and procedures that contribute to safety

• Walk and/or stand for long periods of time, sit, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects

• Be exposed to outside weather conditions including temperatures over 90 and below 40 degrees
• Work near: moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals
• Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud
