We are seeking a skilled Oncology Financial Navigator to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a key member of our cancer care team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive the financial support they need to access life-saving treatments.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain prior authorizations for oral chemo and therapeutic medications, coordinating with specialty and local pharmacies, as well as pharmaceutical companies to ensure timely delivery.
- Identify gaps in coverage that may lead to increased out-of-pocket expenses, updating patient plans as treatment changes occur.
- Enroll patients in co-pay, foundation, and pharmaceutical assistance programs, ensuring timely and HIPAA-compliant applications.
- Submit patient claims and applications for financial assistance, maintaining accurate records and communicating with patients and families.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to provide patient information and support, identifying underinsured and uninsured patients and those with significant gaps in coverage.
- Provide education and counseling on billing, balances, and financial responsibilities, referring patients to the Nuvance Health Financial/Billing department as needed.
- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in financial navigation or case management preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel, with excellent customer service and organizational skills.
- Prior healthcare or business experience preferred.
