Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at SSM Health. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure.
  • Provide quality images for interpretation by radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Set up and adjust all equipment and manually maneuver transducers to perform exams.
  • Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures.
  • Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure prompt submission of all high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, images labeled correctly and patient data/history).
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and any other areas in the department.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Sonography certification program.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification with Abdomen (AB) Specialty or other relevant specialty.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
