Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Driver to join our team at Lake Tahoe Community College. As a Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting students, staff, and faculty to various destinations, including field trips and athletic competitions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a multi-passenger van, bus, or its equivalent in size/load capacity over prescribed routes to transport persons to and from specific destinations.
  • Plan necessary routes and stops, adhering to arrival and departure times.
  • Operate all equipment in a legal, safe manner, free of impairment due to drug and/or alcohol use.
  • Arrive at destinations on schedule and fulfill administrative needs, such as office pickups.
  • Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays.
  • Use navigation applications to determine the best route.
  • Interact with clients professionally at all times.
  • Ensure the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use.
  • Arrange for vehicle repairs as needed.
  • Keep mileage records and repair records up-to-date.
Requirements
  • Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and experience driving students, staff, faculty, or the public.
  • CDL Class B Driver's License and Passenger endorsement.
Working Conditions

The Driver will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with diverse groups of people. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

The Driver will be required to drive a multi-passenger van, bus, or its equivalent in size/load capacity, and will be responsible for ensuring the safety of passengers and the vehicle.

The Driver will work in a variety of weather conditions, including rain, snow, and extreme temperatures.

The Driver will be required to lift and move equipment and supplies as needed.
