Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at Barton Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality respiratory care services to patients in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide basic and advanced respiratory care services, including ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and aerosolized medication administration.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Perform pulmonary mechanics, collect specimens, and assist with diagnostic procedures such as bedside pulmonary function tests and therapeutic bronchoscopies.
  • Establish and maintain mechanical ventilation, including NPPV and CPAP, and transport ventilated patients safely.
  • Collect and present patient data at medical rounds, and discuss treatment options with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Interpret diagnostic and monitoring data, including arterial blood gas sampling, and apply new techniques and procedures with high proficiency.
  • Maintain and possess basic and advanced certifications for all patients, and remain proficient in neonatal intubations.
  • Assume responsibility for self-development through continuing education, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Current RRT certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Current California RCP license.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider) or ability to obtain prior to start date.
  • Current ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification prior to hire or must enroll and complete the first available Barton Education Department courses.
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. and/or ACCS certification preferred.

  • Contact with patients and guests under a wide variety of circumstances.
  • Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases, infectious disease.
  • Subject to airborne/droplet exposure during aerosolized procedures.
